April 2015 marks Medic One's First Responders Club 25th. year anniversary. Over that time period we have trained over 75,000 students in First Aid and CPR, 9,000 student CPR Instructors, over 1,500 student First Responders and more then 300 EMT's. Hundreds of our students have moved on to become Firemen, Paramedics, Law Enforcement Officers, Teachers, Nurses, Doctors, and Community Leaders to name a few. Our goal is to Prepare young adults for transition into the workforce, creating a safe haven for the healthy development of adolescents to become future responsible and caring adults.
The CHIEF's RULES
- Organizational skills at events are of the up most importance! Everyone has a place to be, and a job to do. Anyone playing around will be sent home.
- Follow the rules and precautions given at the beginning of each training session, failing to do so can cause accidents, and may get you suspended from future training. Anyone performing an unsafe act, may be suspended from the club indefinitely. No one should ever be alone, stay with your buddy or team.
- The Disneyland trip and the Lake Mead Party are privilege's for those who have earned enough community service hours to attend these events. Beware! We use he Buddy System. If anyone leaves their buddy,
WE ALL go home! No Exceptions! Always follow the chain of command.
FIRST RESPONDER RULES
- Members must attend at least three meetings a year
- Maintain a minimum of 30 community service hours per calendar year
- Show ethical and moral values and respect others at all times
- Demonstrate team-building attitude within the club
- Show cooperative relationship between adults and youth
- Participate in practical, real, and meaningful hands-on experiences
- Respect and follow the chain of command

MEDIC ONE ACADEMY FIRST RESPONDER CLUB
Medic One's First Responder Club is a community service organization that provides volunteers to serve as Route Marshals and First Aid Attendants at the First Aid Station for nonprofit events in Nevada and surrounding areas.
PURPOSE
The Medic One First Responder Club is an educational program for young men and women who are age 13 to 18 years old. Color, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic background, economic status, or citizenship is not criteria for participation.
Medic One's purpose is to provide experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. The result is a program of activities that helps youth pursue their special interest, growth, and development.

EMT Internship Program
The Medic One Academy
Each student will receive a CPR Smart Chart with easy to follow skills, and a CPR Smart Completion Card at the end of the 90 minute program showing that they participated in compression only CPR
This is how CPR Smart works!
Students pay $5 each (This will pay for materials such as manikins, smart chart, completion card, and certified instructors).
Medic One Academy facilitators will conduct demonstrations with CPR Manikins.
Students will be placed in a group of 10 with a teacher or parent volunteer who will lead the practice. Each student will get hands on training. The goal of this training is to help students develop the skills they need to respond in a CPR emergency.
Medic One Academy has implemented several programs for schools and businesses nationwide, designed to fit their specific culture and environmental nneds.

The goal of this training is to help students develop the knowledge, skill and confidence to respond in a medical emergency.

Others will complete classroom work for credit.

Emergency Medical Responder
American Safety & Health Institute's Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) program is designed for non-EMS responders who desire or require certification in Emergency Medical Response. This program is consistent with national EMS curriculum requirements and educations standards. It is ideal for those who need training comparable to Emergency Medical Responder, but do not need licensure or credentialing from a state EMS agency.

PARENTS
Parents are our most valuable resource, and final authority. Medic One First Responder Club Members must have parent permission to participate in training events and club activities. Outside of our normal club meetings, parent permission slips will be sent home for approval and signature. Membership in the Medic One First Responder Club is limited to students. During the school year, club members are expected to keep schoolwork current. Parents, let us know ahead of time if your child has any special needs.
